Stages of FormationA woman accepted into the Congregation progresses through three stages toward full membership.

Pre-novitiate

A woman is in the pre-novitiate stage from her day of entrance until she is received into the novitiate.  This is generally no longer than two years.

During this time she lives in a house of the congregation and ministers in a work for which she is qualified.

Novitiate

This stage is generally two years.  The first year is a time of intensive prayer and study.  During this time a woman lives in the novitiate house.

At the end of her novitiate a woman may request to make temporary vows of poverty, celibacy and obedience.

Temporary Commitment

A woman is in the stage of temporary commitment from the time of her temporary profession until she makes final vows.

This stage generally lasts between
three and six years during which time she is involved in ministry and lives in community.
