| Stages of Formation: A woman accepted into the Congregation progresses through three stages toward full membership. | ||
|
Pre-novitiate A woman is in the pre-novitiate stage from her day of entrance until she is received into the novitiate. This is generally no longer than two years. During this time she lives in a house of the congregation and ministers in a work for which she is qualified. |
Novitiate This stage is generally two years. The first year is a time of intensive prayer and study. During this time a woman lives in the novitiate house. At the end of her novitiate a woman may request to make temporary vows of poverty, celibacy and obedience. |
Temporary Commitment A woman is in the stage of temporary commitment from the
time of her temporary profession until she makes final vows. |
