Ministry Grants Fund: Directions for Letter of Inquiry

The first step in the grant process is a letter of inquiry that gives a brief overview of the project or proposal for which you want funding and a description of the relationship between the agency/organization and the Congregation of St. Joseph.

  1. An introduction to your organization particularly those aspects that relate to the project you are proposing.

  2. A brief statement of the problem you want to address and the evidence that leads you to determine that this is a genuine need in the community.
  3. A brief description of how you plan to address the need and why you think this approach is pertinent and/or appropriate. Please give a time frame for the project (approximate beginning and ending dates).
  4. An estimate of the total cost of the project and the amount you plan to request from the Ministry Grants Fund.
  5. A description of the relationship between the applicant organization or agency and the Congregation of St. Joseph, Wheeling Center.


Be sure to include: 

  • the name of the person who will be the contact for this request, 
  • the corresponding address, and 
  • telephone number (fax and email if applicable).
Deadline: All letters of Inquiry for 2008-2009 grants are due NO LATER THAN 5 P.M. MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2008.
