SSJ Charitable Fund

In 1996, the Sisters of St. Joseph Charitable Fund was established as a resource and catalyst that continues and expands the healthcare ministry of  the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Wheeling.

The mission of the Charitable Fund is to promote healthy and sustainable communities by providing financial assistance, strengthening collaborative relationships, and supporting local initiatives.  Through this mission, we seek to enhance the rich gifts already found in local communities.  More about the SSJCF.

Ministry Grants Fund -- In 1991, the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Wheeling created the Ministry Grants Fund from the Sisters’ contributions. Thanks to subsequent donations and bequests, this Fund has grown and is able to increase the scope of grantmaking.

Grants are made once a year to non-profit groups or agencies that have some relationship, currently or historical, with the Congregation of St. Joseph, Wheeling Center. Projects should be characterized by collaboration and response to unmet need in West Virgina. Funding is given for a year or less; the maximum amount of funding is $7,500 per grant.
